WOODBURY ANTIQUES & FINE ART

AMERICAN LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS

It has been said that time waits for no one, and in honor of that relentless march, of why wait, come to Woodbury as the finest paintings are on exhibition here at Woodbury Antiques and Fine Art. Recent arrivals of note include a magnificent vista of the Hudson River from West Point by Thomas Doughty and an enchantingly sophisticated Impressionist canvas of the streets of Paris by early 20th century artist Edouard Febvre.

Since returned to its owner for the holidays, but always available if there is real interest is a stunning canvas by Irving Ramsey Wiles (1861-1949), titled the Back Door, and exhibited years ago at the National Arts Club, where according to the artist’s inscription on the back, it won a prize, and the Milch Galleries in NY. The canvas has been in a private collection, ever since it was purchased from the artist by the Duath family, the artist’s neighbors on Indian Neck Road in Peconic, NY.
